The opening derby of the National Cockers Alliance (NCA) 2012 World Championship Derby (WCD) fires off on Jan. 10 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Considered one of the highlights in the NCA sports calendar, the WCD features only the top-tier breeders and cockers fielding their toughest roosters.

American and Filipino cockfighting enthusiasts will face tough competition from the formidable tandem of Gerry Ramos and Atong Ang.

Likewise, Patrick “Idol“ Antonio has vowed to win the championship this year, while boxing icon Manny Pacquiao and Ramon Mancenares have also long prepared for the event.

Bebot Roxas will be fielding two ace entries, even as Roger Roberts from Mississippi will be joining the star-studded group of Gov. Ito Ynares.

Boyet Joson has brought in American breeders Wilburn of California and Jaime Cervantes of Houston, Texas to boost his already hard-to-beat team, while George Torres and Claudy Bautista have brought in imported roosters.

The second and final day of the WCD will be on Jan. 12 and 14.
